About Our Conductor
Music Director Barbara Freedman joined The SBVFD Band in May 2005, and was proud to lead the band in its 50th anniversary season. She resumes leadership of the newly formed Sound Beach Community Band, Inc. in this 2008 Season!
Ms. Freedman is the Director of Electronic Music and Audio Engineering at Greenwich High School. She is also the faculty advisor to the Peer Mentor service group and the Nu Musik Club!
Ms. Freedman has conducted several community and professional bands, orchestras, and operas in the tri-state area. She is also an accomplished professional percussionist who freelances with many different organizations, including regular appearances with the Bridgeport, Greenwich, Norwalk and Ridgefield Symphony Orchestras.
